There is nothing more pleasurable than talking Astronomy with a lay audience. The questions they ask are fresh, and their innocence can be at times extremely piercing. My students, whether they be children, educators, amateur astronomers or regular museum visitors, are in many ways my teachers. |
My teaching goal is to help people think critically. Not all my students will become professional astronomers, but I hope that they will all remeber how, through Astronomy, they learnd how to parse information, formulate their own hypotheses and determine an effective way to test them. This is a valueble skill in life. |
