Research Project
Vanessa is interested in a wide range of topics in computational linguistics.
The goal of her PhD research project is to improve methods for extracting and understanding tabular data
embedded in written documents.
Her current work focuses on various aspects of document engineering: text mining,
information extraction, document analysis, pattern recognition, knowledge representation and statistical machine learning methods.
Vanessa works under the supervision of Steve Cassidy and Robert Dale .
