What is on Offer for 2013 from the Faculty?
2013 Postgraduate Unit Designations Check
In working through the recent submissions of the 2013 Schedule of Postgraduate Units, APS has identified a number of units with unit designations which may not be necessary. This spreadsheet shows postgraduate units that have a designation but which have a prerequisite which restrict enrolment to students outside of the award for which the designation is relevant. There are three tabs - one for the Science designation, one for the Arts designation and one for the Commerce designation.
For some of these, APS has been able to identify why the designation has been included - these details have been included in a Notes Tab. For these units you do not need to do anything, except advise if anything is not to your expectation. For the others please check the unit designation and determine whether it is relevant and correct. For example, if the unit has a Science or an Arts designation because it is intended to be available as an option to students pursuing those awards then perhaps the admision prerequiste requires amendment to allow those students access to the unit. Alternatively the unit designation may not be necessary at all.
Please make your amendments in the Notes Tab in red font and return one submission per Department (from your HoD) to mingshan.sim@mq.edu.au by CoB Thursday, 17th May 2012.
2013 Unit Descriptions Check
The next step in the process is for the unit descriptions to be updated.
Please make your amendments using 'Track Changes' and return one submission per Department (from your HoD) to mingshan.sim@mq.edu.au by CoB, Friday 1st June 2012.
What is on offer for 2013 from the Faculty?
The Faculty has now submitted all the information needed to finalise its 2013 curriculum in terms of the units/programs that will be offered. Below is a list of what will be on offer along with some high level information regarding each course. From May 2012, this information will also be used to update marketing collateral which will be made available on this page.
Note that there are our some changes to our offerings in 2013. All Museum Studies Programs, MIT Consulting and the MIT specialisation in Research & Development will no longer be offered and applications should no longer be accepted into these programs. The Faculty will also be introducing a number of new programs which include:
- Mechanical Engineering Specialisation in the Bachelor of Engineering
- Master of Engineering Management
- Master of Climate Change
- Undergraduate specialisation in Human Biology
- Master of Research
The full Faculty Submission for 2013 Program Details can be seen in the following documents UG Schedule of Units, UG Schedule of Programs, Schedule of Majors, Schedule of Grad Certs and Dips, PG Schedule of Units, PG Schedule of Programs and Specialisations
Looking foward, June and July will be our critical time for deciding the strategic direction and possible offerings the Faculty might have in 2014. More information will be forthcoming from this page and our L&T announcements page regarding key dates and processes around this.
