VISOR Research Group

VISOR (Virtual and Interactive Simulations of Reality) is a multi departmental research group with members from several different universities in Australia and internationally. The group formally belongs to the Department of Computing, in the Faculty of Science at the Macquarie University, Sydney; however the research group comprises about 35 academics and post-graduate students from numerous different universities. All are working with some aspect of virtual reality, for example training simulations, graphics, computer games, and interactive storytelling.

Macquarie VR Lab Featured on Good Game

A recent episode of the ABC hit TV show Good Game featured some footage of the VR lab along with an interview with Manolya Kavakli of Macquarie University. The segment studies motion sickness and its effect on gamers. The clip can be downloaded here (63MB).

VISOR brings together researchers

Working on Interactive System Development with an emphasis on Human Computer Interaction, User Interface Design, and Cognitive Modeling. The Major focus of the group is to apply the research findings to the design and implementation of interactive systems such as Computer Games and Virtual Reality, and test the usability of such systems through experimental analysis.
