Seeking vocabulary and theory to describe spaces of affine symmetries

This short presentation will describe a problem arising in a music theory application that I'm hoping to express more clearly and solve more elegantly and generally. Briefly, the problem is to describe the group of symmetries of an orbifold arising as the quotient $\R^N/G$, where $G$ is a group of affine transformations. I am seeking your assistance; it seems like the sort of problem where the right algebraic or categorical perspective might be very helpful.
