Awards

• Ross Street was awarded a Discovery Outstanding Researcher Award by the Australian Research Council (2013). 
• Ross Street was awarded the 2012 George Szekeres Medal of the Australian Mathematical Society.
• Ross Street was awarded the Chaire de la Vallée Poisson for 2011 by the ancient Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, and a conference was organized in connection with the Chaire.
• Stephen Lack was appointed chair of the Scientific Committee for the major international category theory conference CT2011 at UBC, Vancouver, Canada.
• Michael Johnson chaired the AMAST (Algebraic Methodology and Software Technology) conference held in Quebec City in June 2011 and lectured at the University of Milan in April.
• Stephen Lack was awarded the Medal of the Australian Mathematical Society for 2009.
• Dominic Verity received a Macquarie University Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence (2009) and a National Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning by the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (2011).
• John Bourke was awarded the TG Room medal for a PhD Thesis of outstanding merit (2011).
