1. Thesis preparation
The following website contains detailed advice on thesis preparation.
Theses may be written as a monograph, with a series of chapters presenting the aims, background, and theoretical and methodological framework of the research, and the results, analyses, and conclusions. Alternatively, it may be prepared according to the guidelines for a Thesis by Publication.
The final form of the thesis depends very much on the field of research, and expectations of the outcomes. You and your supervisor should discuss ideas for the final format of your thesis early in your candidature so that your project plan incorporates time to prepare publishable papers. You should also examine recently awarded theses from your own discipline area to get a feel for what is required.
Your Completion Plan should contain an extended thesis outline and draft Table of Contents, clearly showing the timeline for completion including specific goals and dates.
